Father’s Day in Kerrville
Father’s Day is coming up, and we all want to plan the perfect day for the person who does so much for us. It can be hard to decide what to do to celebrate, so we went ahead and organized some of your best options so that you don’t have to.
Play a Round
To begin, you can start off your day with some time on the golf course. Kerrville has multiple private courses and one public course, the Scott Schreiner Municipal Golf Course. The 18-hole course was established in 1923 and has been a staple of the city since it became public in the 1930s. You can find tee times online and schedule a fun, relaxing round with the beautiful scenery of the
Hill Country surrounding you.
Take a Walk
Spend some time walking and talking on the Kerrville River Trail, which is parallel to the Guadalupe River and connects the best parks in Kerrville. These parks include the Louise Hays Park, Lowry Park, and Schreiner Park. At the Lousie Hays and Schreiner Parks, you can even rent a boat or a bike to take along the river. The trail is 6 miles in total, but you can enjoy shorter distances with all the trailheads available.
Grab a Bite
With so many dining options in Kerrville, you’re sure to find the perfect choice for you and your loved ones. Some of our favorite restaurants are Grape Juice, Rails Cafe, and 1011 Bistro.
At Grape Juice, you can get one of your favorite classic meals with a twist. Check it out to get burgers, salads, and sandwiches like you’ve never seen before.
Rails Café is cozy and welcoming, and features an outdoor patio along with outdoor music. Stop by and try one of their signature dishes such as grilled salmon salad, bison burgers, or grilled Italian sandwiches.
For dinner by the river, take a trip to 1011 Bistro. This upscale spot has everything from filet mignon to a rack of lamb. With amazing food and the perfect view, this is a spot you don’t want to miss.
Share a Drink
If you want to relax and have a few drinks, you’ve got plenty of options. Try out one of our top choices such as Trailhead Beer Garden, Turtle Creek Olives & Vines, or Pint & Plow Brewing Co.
If you like live music and outdoor seating, take a visit to Trailhead Beer Garden. With locally made draft beers and a food truck, this is the best place to sit back, talk, and relax.
Featuring rare and worldly wines, Turtle Creek Olives & Vines is inspired by Italian scenery and its historic building. Visit their tasting room and enjoy unique wines that you’ve never had before.
Pint & Plow Brewing Co is the perfect place for house-crafted beers and a laid-back atmosphere. With live music and a patio, it’s a great place to end the day.
If you love some of these spots as much as we do, you can live in Kerrville and experience them all the time. View our Quick Move-In Homes to see if there’s a fit for you!
